When the owners of Franklin Bakehouse sought to expand their kitchen with a restaurant build-out, they realized their need was bigger. Increasing popularity and requests for a dinner menu as well as event space prompted a second restaurant—Bakehouse Bistro. Located next to the original restaurant, Bakehouse Bistro offers Franklin, Tennessee residents and tourists more upscale dining, a full-service bar and private rooms.

Hearts is an all-day café inspired by the food, coffee and the overall café culture of Melbourne, Australia. Yet, the owners – Michael McIlroy and Sam Ross, in partnership with the latter’s twin sister, Kate Ross – put their own unique spin on the establishment, repurposing an old gas station and mechanic shop in East Nashville into a modern and relaxed place to eat and hang. This magic is also what they brought to their other East Nashville establishments, Attaboy Nashville and Lakeside Lounge, both of which MTLC also had the pleasure of providing restaurant build-out services.

Rodney Mitchell opened his first salon in Nashville’s historic Music Row district in 1998 before moving a few years later to the city’s Hillsboro Village. In 2020, the renowned stylist relocated his namesake salon back home to 19th Avenue South. Located now in The Morris, a mixed-use apartment tower, Rodney Mitchell Salon is an extension of the development’s modern elegance. The salon joined fitness center HOTWORX, another MTLC retail build-out client, as the building’s first two retail tenants.

In fact, the company has been in business more than 20 years and boasts around 260 franchised bakeries, including three in Middle Tennessee. Located on the south end of Franklin, TN, is the new Berry Farms mixed use community. And, in its Town Center, residents and visitors will find the Benchmark Sport Pub + Eatery. The restaurant is a second location for its local owners, who bring the flavor of their popular Benchmark Bar and Grill on Nashville’s historic 2nd Avenue to the area. MTLC was proud to take on this restaurant build-out, constructing a modern, yet welcoming environment to enjoy a meal and catch the day’s games.

This Class A retail development drew countless inquiries from area residents, as well as commitments from AT&T and Marco’s Pizza while underway. The people of Sunset Hills Baptist Church want their visitors to feel at home as soon as they drive up. So, when they sought a general contractor for ground-up construction of their new place of worship, MTLC was up to the task. Our team started with site work and progressed to the church’s shell and interior, all the while working to maintain the church’s comforting quality and, at the same time, to deliver a state-of-the-art facility.

Just south of Nashville, TN, a 76-acre, abandoned rock quarry found new life as an event venue like none the area’s ever seen. The owners’ vision was for it to be a distinctive destination for weddings, corporate events, live music and more. And, MTLC was fortunate to help them realize their concept, with our team chosen to complete ground-up construction of the venue’s two facilities.
One was named Graystone Quarry’s Gathering Hall – a two-level, 10,000 sq. ft. event space featuring 30-foot wood ceilings, beams and a towering, two-story fireplace. The other, the Hillside Pavilion, spans 4,200 sq. ft., while still offering soaring ceilings and slide-away glass sides for indoor/outdoor capabilities.
